The Bullet Boy Soundtrack EP

Robert Del Naja’s film score to Bullet Boy will be available exclusively as a download-only EP via iTunes and Napster from May 2nd, we'll send out links next week so you can access the music directly.

The Bullet Boy Soundtrack EP comprises two pieces of music; ‘Brave New World And Score’ and ‘Bullet Boy (Vox)’. The former, a brooding and reflective 28-minute instrumental provides an atmospheric accompaniment to this powerful and moving independent film. ‘Bullet Boy (Vox)’ is the main end title track and features Robert Del Naja on vocals. Both tracks were written and produced by Robert Del Naja and Neil Davidge (co-producer of Mezzanine and 100th Window) and recorded over a three week period last summer in Bristol.

Bullet Boy is a gripping drama and one of the first British films to deal with the issue of escalating gun crime. It tells the story of two brothers growing up in one of London's most volatile neighbourhoods, where a minor street clash escalates into a cycle of violence that has tragic repercussions. A compelling and emotional tale of young men on the edge, it reflects an emerging modern reality within Britain's inner cities. The film explores themes of friendship, rivalry and revenge amid a generation of boys to whom guns have become a fact of life. Starring Ashley Walters (Ex-So Solid Crew’s Asher D) and directed by Saul Dibb, Bullet Boy has attracted huge critical acclaim.

RE: The Bullet Boy Soundtrack EP

Like the song. Nice mood to it.
Will sure make a great closing track I think.

Fun how many of the old 100th window shards can be spotted on the mini-tracks making "Brave New World And Score"...

Understandable that it won't make it to ful release, sadly. Classy stuff as you'd say Mr. Avalanche, but not hugely salable I think.

Love Bullet Boy. Teardrop-esque bassline, subdued vox, trumpet(?) sounds like a sample from a Julee Cruise song. Had a go at the lyrics, see what you think.

Everyday, everyday, everyday
from another place, everyday, takes grace
and the air's still warm, put a bullet in the wrong place
this time maybe next time i'll be , promise me, never knew so free
i still stand in front of the bullet, front of the bullet
for the last time this day
from another place, everything, takes grace
and the air's still warm

Cheers, Caz.

Just remembered where I seemed to recall the"You only get one shot at life" line from, the track from Brotherhood, "One shot"... Is it coming from somewhere else famous or something ?

Thanks for the lyrics. :)
